Why #AforAce?
The A in LGBTQIA+ stands for asexual, not ally. Imagine if any other letter were removed from the acronym to make way for a non-queer identity. Removing asexuals to make room for a non-queer makes invisible an orientation that is actively working to shed the title “invisible orientation.” It’s degrading and disrespectful to aces, including those on the aflux, demi and grey spectrums.
We’re raising funds to donate ace & aro books to the Gerber/Hart Library and Archives.
Why Asexual Visibility Matters
Like all asexuals don’t have sex, it’s a phase, all aces are aromantic, being ace is the same as being celibate & being ace is a choice.
Dispelling Myths
Ending Invisibility
Asexuality is often referred to as “the invisible orientation,” but it doesn’t have to be that way.
Educating Youth
Aces/Afluxes are arguably the least recognized and understood letter in the LGBTQIA+ alphabet soup. As such, many aces don’t have a word for what they are until much later in life, unlike their fellow queer peers.
